East Side House is a community-based social service organization that recognizes education as the gateway out of poverty for the children and families we serve. Our goal is to help motivated students graduate from high school, enroll in college, and build the skills necessary to secure a good job. To do so, we work with schools, community centers and other partners to bring quality education, resources and opportunities to individuals and families through a wide range of programs.
A social service organization founded in 1891 on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, East Side House moved to the Bronx in 1963. We have expanded our programming in the last year to serve residents of the surrounding community and the Inwood section of Manhattan.
Operating from 29 different program locations, East Side House helps approximately 10,000 residents of the South Bronx and surrounding communities improve their lives each year by providing access to quality education and technology training.Download the East Side House Fact Sheet
