Students from Middle School 391 gave a cooking demonstration, making the connection to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), which is becoming increasingly important in the curriculum of New York City public schools. Staff use cooking to provide hands-on examples of math in real life situations. Through culinary lessons, students practice measurement, fractions, chemistry, and more.
