Position Title: Center Coordinator
Program: Mitchel Community Center
Location: 210 Alexander Avenue
General Overview:
East Side House Settlement is a community resource in the South Bronx. We believe education is the key that enables all people to create economic and civic opportunities for themselves, their families and the communities. We are seeking a dynamic, hard-working and creative leader who shares our passion for providing exceptional programming to children and families in the Mott Haven neighborhood of the South Bronx.
Under the supervision of the Deputy Director of Community-based Programs, the Center Coordinator oversees all operations at the Mitchel Community Center. These currently include an afterschool program for 175 children ages K – 5th grade, a leadership program for middle and high school youth, plus a number of varied community collaborations.

In addition, the ideal candidate is resourceful and creative, possessing the following capabilities and experiences:
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and commensurate work experience
• Possesses and articulates a vision for how the community center can make a difference in the lives of the children and families it serves through dynamic programming
• Experience with curriculum development
• Experience hiring and managing staff and creating schedules. Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects while meeting agency and funder deadlines
• Inspires others, through words and actions, to do their best work
In addition, we prefer a candidate who:
• Is committed, highly organized and an excellent manager of people and resources
• Is an enthusiastic and resourceful team player who loves to learn
• Welcomes the challenge of leadership and creating a culture of excellence
• Is bilingual English/Spanish
• Has experience with building management\\
• Is able to be flexible with work hours as needed
• Is able to work effectively within a fast-paced, often distracting environment
