Position Title: Club Leader

Program: PS 277

Location: Bronx, NY

General Overview:

East Side House Settlement is a community resource in the South Bronx. We believe education is the key that enables all people to create economic and civic opportunities for themselves, their families and the communities. We are seeking a dynamic, hard-working and creative leader who shares our passion for providing exceptional programming to children and families in the Mott Haven neighborhood of the South Bronx.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure the health, safety and well being of children in the program by providing close supervision during all activities.

• Plan fun, innovative age-appropriate program activities and develop lesson plans to conduct them.

• Have strong facilitation skills

• Display and rotate children's work.

• Maintain accurate program documentation (incident/accident reports, behavior logs, attendance & sign-in / sign-out sheets).

• Inform immediate supervisor, on a daily basis, of any concerns or problems concerning participants and facilities.

• Communicate with families about their children’s strengths and areas needing attention on a weekly basis.

• Communicate effectively with parents, participants and staff.

• Maintain supplies and storage of participant work and equipment.

• Use planning time to plan activity

• Can bring lesson plans to life with an extreme amount of creativity

Education/Experience:

• HS Diploma & some college

• Two years of experience working with youth/Theater Skills a plus

• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

• Have experience developing fun and creative curriculum

• Have an interesting in working with young people in the South Bronx
