With all the proposed changes in our educational system and in keeping with our desire to provide responsive programs that empower people to improve their lives, East Side House Settlement has developed an After-School program which enables youngsters to be better prepared to meet the challenges of the future. Through the After-School program, East Side House Settlement implements comprehensive programs in a safe environment that emphasizes educational prosperity and academic success as a means to eventual economic independence. Also, to expose youngsters to innovative educational programs that will better prepare them for their learning experiences. We offer youngsters a safe and secure haven where they can escape from the everyday impediments that confront them in their neighborhood. Developing an evaluation system enables us to determine individual needs and assess individual improvement, expose youngsters to the arts, and improve youngsters' socialization and communication skills.
