Position Title: Group Leader

Program: After School Program (Part-Time)

Location: Bronx, NY

Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Group Leader is expected to perform each essential duty of this position in a satisfactory manner. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or ability required.

Education/Experience:

• H.S. Diploma with at least two years of experience working with youth.
• Demonstrated knowledge of community service/development.
  
  

Duties and Responsibilities: The Group Leader is responsible for implementing and monitoring the recreational and educational programs. Areas of responsibility shall include but are not limited to the following:

• Organize and provide support or leadership for groups where the primary program emphasis is providing constructive use of leisure time, developing leadership skills, enhancing social development, or learning specific skills or knowledge.
• Organize and schedule local and out-of-town trips and activities.
• Recommend, develop and administer leisure time activity programs providing an opportunity for growth.
• Maintain an awareness of needs of individual members, consulting with program coordinators, or other designated staff for guidance and/or referral.
• Supervise volunteers, junior Group Leaders, and assigned aides to the group.
• Perform administrative record keeping, ie; attendance, emergency phone numbers and other functions as assigned.
  
  

Pay Scale: $9.25 - $12.00 per hour.

Work Schedule: 3:00pm – 6:00pm, Monday through Friday
