Title: Peer Educator

Program: East Side House Settlement/College Preparation and Leadership Program.

Location: Mott Haven Village Preparatory High School, 701 St. Ann’s Avenue, Bronx NY 10455

General: Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Peer Educator will implement life skills awareness and leadership development services to incoming freshman

Specific Duties:

  • Research, develop, and implement a peer education curriculum in consultation with Program Director
  • Facilitate peer education lessons/workshops for students in the 9th grade that raise life skills awareness and address social issues that affect the school community and young people in general
  • Manage and maintain student action plans and grade student class work/assignments according to DOE standards
  • Organize a career fair in the Spring for the MHVP student body that would allow students to explore and gain valuable insight into various careers
  • Assist in planning special events for the CPLP after school academy during particular times of the year
  • Attend professional development trainings/meetings in and outside of the school as well as Kidtalk and advisory sessions
  • Accompany CPLP staff on two in or out of state college tours in the Fall and Spring semesters
  • Submit a monthly report/narrative
  • Perform other duties as needed



Requirements: B.A. in education, human services or related field with a minimum of one year youth-related work. Excellent verbal, analytical, writing, communication, and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal, presentation, and time management skills. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and handle multi-tasks.

Hours: 9 – 5:30pm (Monday through Friday)

Salary: 30k - 33k
