Program: School Based Program
Location: P.S. 49 Bronx

Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Deputy Director, the Program Coordinator, with latitude for independent judgment, will be responsible for overseeing the complete operation of the Program within the school, implementing and monitoring the educational and recreational programs and activities for students. Areas of responsibility shall include, but are not limited to the following:
- Work collaboratively with Principal, classroom teachers, and designated support staff in implementing and integrating comprehensive program services and staff within the school that meet the needs of students and families in the particular school, including participation on School Leadership Team.
- Coordinate comprehensive program and services within the school. Maintain awareness of individual needs of students in an array of areas that include education, attendance, social and leadership development and adapt program to meet those needs in consultation with Deputy Director, Principal, Bd. of Ed. teachers, or other designated staff.
- Supervise and evaluate support staff and adhere to personnel policies and procedures.
- Organize and provide support and leadership for staff where the primary program emphasis is to encourage learning, make constructive use of leisure time, develop leadership skills, and enhance social development.
- Develop, organize, and schedule program activities and/or trips that provide students an opportunity for growth and are aligned to Board of Education academic performance standards and program theme.
- Communicate strengths, enhancements, adjustments, challenges, and concerns that can affect the productivity and effectiveness of the program.
- Meet regular with Deputy Director to receive and provide updates on programming and administrative tasks.
- Manage program contract to ensure compliance with regulations, expectations, work plans and procedures
- Establish reporting systems such as student record keeping, i.e. attendance, health/ emergency records, progress notes, staff meetings, monthly and quarterly narrative and expense reports, program assessment.
- Attend administrative meetings, program trainings and staff development.
- Participate in civic and community building efforts and activities as assigned via East Side House Community Development.
- Maintain flexible hours and work days.
Education/ Experience:
- B.A/ B.S.W. with at least two years experience with youth-related work
- Excellent verbal, analytical, writing, communication, organizational skills.
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to represent the organization.
- Supervisory experience and demonstrated leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a team oriented environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Strong interpersonal skills and time management skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of community service/ development.
- Knowledge and experience in WordPerfect/ Microsoft Word and other applications
Salary Range: $35,000 – 40,000
Work Schedule:
• Monday – Friday: 10:00am – 6:00pm
