Students were awestruck as they went down an educational rabbit hole and emerged on the other side to meet Alicia, and her Wonderland friends “All in the golden afternoon.” During their time in Wonderland, Early Childhood Education students played mini bowling, mini rope ladder toss, and mini cornhole before enjoying storybook time read by Alicia and the Queen of Hearts. While the elementary and middle school students didn’t have to ponder why a raven is like a writing desk as they participated in fun educational STEM activities making bunny masks, and miniature catapults, planted flower seeds into personal flowerpots, learned how angles can affect rates of speed with zipline mushroom egg race.
They also enjoyed munching on freshly spun cotton candy and hot popcorn while spending time listening to music and dancing with Alicia, The Mad Hatter, Cheshire the Cat, the White Rabbit, The Queen of Hearts and other friends before leaving with a goodie basket filled with treats!
We want to thank Con Edison for their continued support helping provide STEM activities for kids in our community and a big thank you to Lambert Treasure Events for the amazing job they did transforming our Mitchel Community Center into a place of magic and wonder!
